What afternoon activities for schoolchildren?

The aim of school afternoon activities is to provide a safe, varied and active afternoon for schoolchildren immediately after the school day.

The active activities are counterbalanced by the opportunity to rest and relax in the company of a familiar adult. The aim is to reduce the amount of time children spend alone after the school day and to make it easier for families to reconcile everyday life and work. In cooperation with the parents and the school, the aim is to promote equality between children, to support the development of well-being, emotional well-being, ethical growth and social skills, and to prevent social exclusion.

Who are the activities for?

Afternoon activities are organised for pupils in the 1st and 2nd grades of basic education and, as far as possible, for pupils in the third grade whose needs have been assessed by a multidisciplinary team.

Where and when?

Afternoon activities are organised at the Kappelimäki school (Mon-Thu 11:30-17:00, Fri 11:30-16:00) or at the Laitila parish afternoon club (Mon-Thu 11:30-17:00, Fri 11:30-16:00).

Fees for the academic year 2025-2026

11 or more days/month
afternoon activities 115 €/month

Fees for the academic year 2026-2027

afternoon activities 60 €/month

11 or more days/month
afternoon activities 120 €/month

Sibling discount -25% if there are siblings from the same family in the afternoon activities.

In August and in June, the daily fee is 6 €/day.

Charging according to the level of service (e.g. if the level of service exceeds 11 days/month, the full fee is charged even if only a few days are used).
